Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Mapapu website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). Mapapu is a service operated by Butterfly International LLC, a company registered in Iowa, United States ("Mapapu", "we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create a Mapapu account and to make a booking. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
2. Mapapu's Role as Intermediary
Mapapu acts as an intermediary and booking agent for travel products and services provided by independent third-party suppliers, including airlines, hotels, tour operators, activity providers, car rental companies, eSIM providers, and travel insurance providers ("Suppliers"). Mapapu is not the operator, owner, or provider of any transportation, accommodation, activity, or other travel service listed through the platform.
Each booking you make through Mapapu is a contract between you and the applicable Supplier. The Supplier's terms and conditions, including airline fare rules, hotel rate conditions, and product-specific policies (collectively, "Supplier Terms"), apply to your booking in addition to these Terms. You are responsible for reviewing the applicable Supplier Terms before completing a purchase.
3. Bookings, Prices and Payment
- Prices displayed on Mapapu include all mandatory taxes and fees known at the time of display, unless expressly stated otherwise.
- Optional services (baggage, seat selection, ancillary hotel fees, city taxes collected at the property, etc.) may be charged separately.
- Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. Mapapu does not store your full payment card details.
- A booking is only confirmed once you receive a confirmation from Mapapu and, where applicable, from the Supplier. Availability and price are not guaranteed until confirmation.
4. Your Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and complete traveler information (names must match government-issued identification).
- Ensure you and everyone in your booking hold valid travel documents, including passports, visas, and any health documentation required by the destination or transit countries.
- Passport, visa, vaccination and entry requirements are the sole responsibility of the traveler. Mapapu is not liable for denied boarding or entry due to insufficient documentation.
- Arrive at airports and check-in points within the timeframes required by the Supplier.
5. Wallet Credits
Mapapu Wallet credits are promotional credits issued by Mapapu at its discretion. Wallet credits:
- are non-transferable and have no cash value;
- are not withdrawable and cannot be exchanged for cash;
- may only be redeemed on the Mapapu platform;
- may be applied to a new booking up to a maximum of 20% of the booking's total value;
- may expire, be reduced, or be revoked in the event of fraud, abuse, or violation of these Terms.
6. Earn Mode Price Monitoring
"Earn Mode" is an optional feature that monitors qualifying bookings for eligible price drops after purchase. If a qualifying price drop is detected, Mapapu may credit the difference to your Wallet, subject to the following caps:
- The credit is capped at the lesser of 10% of the ticket price or $40 USD per booking.
- Only certain routes, fare classes and Suppliers are eligible; ancillary fees, taxes and third-party surcharges are excluded.
- Program terms, caps and eligibility criteria may change over time. Mapapu will make reasonable efforts to communicate material changes.
7. Cancellations, Changes and Refunds
Cancellation and refund rights depend on the Supplier's fare rules or rate conditions displayed before you complete a booking. See our Cancellation & Refund Policy for details, including the US Department of Transportation 24-hour rule for eligible flight bookings.
8. Prohibited Conduct
- Using the Service for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose.
- Creating bookings with false information, or making speculative, duplicate, or excessive bookings.
- Reverse engineering, scraping, or otherwise interfering with the Service.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Mapapu makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Service or any Supplier products, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Butterfly International LLC and its officers, employees and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service or any Supplier product. Mapapu's aggregate liability for direct damages arising out of a booking is limited to the amount you actually paid to Mapapu for that booking.
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Butterfly International LLC from any claims, damages, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your violation of any law, or your infringement of any third-party right.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Iowa for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, except where prohibited by applicable law.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after the updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance.
